Leeds United Super Fans wowed by Matheus Cunha form for Brazil at Olympics
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Leeds Insider Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road.
Leeds United fans are urging the club to sign Hertha Berlin forward Matheus Cunha as he continues to impress for Brazil at the Olympics in Tokyo.
Cunha, 22, has helped Brazil reach the Olympics final, where they will play for a gold medal against Spain on Saturday.
Not only did the attacker score in the group stages against Saudi Arabia but he also grabbed the match-winning goal against Egypt in the quarter-finals. However, he missed the semi-final win over Mexico on Tuesday due to injury.

Cunha will hopefully be available for the final against Spain this weekend after playing such a vital role in Brazil’s route to the gold medal match.
Leeds fans will no doubt be hoping for the same too with our panel of Super Fans excited by the Brazilian’s form in Tokyo.
Cunha has been linked with a move to Elland Road this summer with Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting on Twitch in July that the Whites have been in talks over a deal for the Hertha Berlin man.
Spanish news outlet AS has since added that Marcelo Bielsa is preparing a “masterstroke” move for the former RB Leipzig attacker.
Leeds fans want the deal to be done, with one urging director of football Victor Orta to land the gifted South American.
Here is what they had to say:

Cunha is a proper number 10.
He can play as a striker or off the centre-forward as he’s great at dropping deep, creating chances, bringing other players into play and beating defenders with his skill and pace.
Patrick Bamford isn’t too dissimilar to Cunha but it would not hurt to have the two playing together or even having the Olympian to compete with the Englishman for a spot in Bielsa’s starting line-up.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared a major update on Bielsa’s future as he searches for a new home.
