Jonathan Rowe may have just taken a step away from Norwich City and one step closer to a move to Leeds United.

It is no secret that Daniel Farke's side are interested in the 21-year-old winger [Sky Sports], especially after Crysencio Summerville's inevitable move away from Elland Road, joining West Ham United permanently.

While journalist Graham Smyth does not expect any significant movement surrounding Rowe [X], they may need to prepare a new offer after the most recent update emerging from Carrow Road.

Rowe was nowhere to be seen after the Canaries named their starting XI to face Oxford United on Saturday 10 August and, according to Connor Southwell, he decided to withdraw from the game.

While it is understood that no transfer is close for the dynamic forward, Leeds must ensure they are ahead of the pack when it comes to claiming Rowe's signature this summer.

With 12 goals and two assists in the Championship last season, it is no wonder why so many teams are interested in his services, even with Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto still on the flanks.

Leeds United to ready new bid for Jonathan Rowe?

Leeds fans will have been devastated to see their star winger Summerville leave Elland Road this summer, and with Gnonto and Georginio Rutter still being linked with moves away, Rowe could be key.

The 21-year-old, albeit only in his breakout season at Carrow Road, has proven himself in England's second division already, with 13 goals in 56 appearances last term.

However, with the sheer amount of interest in him right now, and alarm bells being set off by his decision on Saturday, Leeds will need to be quick if they are to sign him before the transfer deadline.

The winger, who is also capable of deploying on the opposite flank or as an attacking midfielder, could be a very exciting signing, but the transfer saga is likely to drag on after the latest update.
