Fode Ballo-Toure's agent has offered the defender to Ipswich Town amid interest from Leeds United, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian source reported on Sunday (4 August) that the AC Milan left-back wants to play in the Premier League but has only received a concrete offer from Besiktas, which has been rejected.

With just a year left on his contract at San Siro, and now training alone at AC Milan ahead of next season [Calcio Mercato, 29 July], Leeds have not submitted an offer for the 27-year-old just yet.

Leeds United to beat Ipswich Town to Fode Ballo-Toure?

The Senegalese full-back could be a real statement signing for Daniel Farke this summer, with Ipswich and Besiktas both also linked.

Ballo-Toure has plenty of experience in Ligue 1, making a total of 111 appearances across spells with Lille and Monaco before moving to Italy as a free agent.

The defender's previous move to the Premier League did not quite work out, playing just eight times on loan with Fulham before returning to Milan.

The 27-year-old is clearly a talented player, having won 14 caps at international level with Senegal after switching from the France youth teams.

Given the news that the player is training away from his teammates at AC Milan, Leeds could pull off a very exciting transfer, especially if they are to beat the Tractor Boys to his signature.

Leeds are attempting to build a squad that can secure promotion to the Premier League at the second time of asking, and his desire to play football in the top tier of English football could have a telling impact on his decision.

Junior Firpo and Sam Byram are both capable of deputising at left-back, with the former playing a vital role for the Whites last term, but Ballo-Toure could be an interesting upgrade in the position.
