Leeds United fans will have felt an inevitability surrounding Crysencio Summerville's exit after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old Dutchman was crowned Championship Player of the Season, notching 19 goals and nine assists in 43 appearances, nearly leading the Whites out of the second tier.

However, due to being condemned to a second consecutive campaign outside of the Premier League, Archie Gray and Glen Kamara have already found new homes, and Summerville looks to be the next exit.

The Leeds winger is set to sign his contract at West Ham United on Saturday 3 August, according to Florian Plettenberg, joining for a fee believed to be between £20million and £25million.

While the news of the player's exit has surprised nobody at Elland Road, the price tag is sure to raise quite a few eyebrows and should see some anger aimed towards the 49ers for the ridiculous decision.

Following Gray's £30million move to Tottenham earlier this summer [BBC Sport], fans will have expected a much higher fee for the Championship's best player last season.

It was reported, as per talkSPORT [30 July], that Leeds were holding out for a fee much closer to £40million, which would have been a much fairer price for Summerville's exit this summer.

West Ham fans are very aware of the cheap deal they are about to get the Leeds winger for, with the club's technical director, Tim Steidten, already receiving a lot of praise.

The 49ers, on the other hand, will not be receiving quite the same reaction from the die-hard fans at Elland Road, given they said they could dictate what clubs would pay for their players after the sale of Gray.

While the deal is likely to include several potential add-ons, the final fee will be nowhere near what fans were expecting for the player when Daniel Farke's side narrowly missed out on promotion.

The Whites have every right to be angry with the ridiculous decision made at Elland Road.
