Leeds United make late transfer announcement on Jack Harrison that says it all

Jack Harrison has finally left Leeds United for good.

While Daniel Farke took his squad stateside to continue pre-season, the winger was also in America.

Instead of featuring in the 3-2 defeat to Wrexham in Tampa, though, Harrison was signing for New England Revolution.

MOT Leeds News exclusively revealed New England's interest in Harrison, which has finally been made official.

After three failed loan spells away from Elland Road, the former New York City FC attacker will return to the MLS.

As for Leeds, their latest move confirms exactly how they feel about it.

As Leeds took to the field in Tampa in the early hours of Sunday, Harrison was introduced in New England.

The winger waved at his new home fans in New England just as Leeds were equalising against Wrexham.

While wild timing, Leeds simply did not acknowledge it.

Fast forward to Sunday afternoon, and the Whites have now officially waved goodbye to Harrison.

Thanking him for his service at Elland Road, Leeds confirmed his permanent exit after two loan spells at Everton and one at Fiorentina.

Leeds doing what they haven't done for years

The Whites have been simply awful at offloading players.

Paraag Marathe addressed the issue when Leeds were relegated from the Premier League three years ago.

Loan clauses in nearly every contract meant that several big names, with big wages, were allowed to leave temporarily.

That hit Leeds hard, as they weren't bringing in fees for many players, and in some cases, still paying parts of their wages.

This summer is different.

Harrison is the latest in a line of permanent sales, with Pascal Struijk and Isaac Schmidt bringing in at least £20million already.

Max Wober had his contract terminated to join Schalke, while Joe Gelhardt and Largie Ramazani could be next.

What it means is that further money can be spent on incomings, with James Trafford possibly set to complete a huge move to Elland Road.

Following on from the £34m move for Tarik Muharemovic and the marquee signing of Harry Wilson, Leeds are laughing.

It says all you need to know that it took Leeds basically 12 hours after New England to confirm Harrison's move.

Harrison will bring in another small fee, but more importantly, his huge wages will be gone.
