Leeds United impressed as Club Brugge already decide on Nicolo Tresoldi future

Club Brugge's stance on Nicolo Tresoldi has emerged amid growing interest from Leeds United and other Premier League clubs.

The 22-year-old has scored nine times in 12 matches for Club Brugge this season.

Three of those goals came in his most recent outing away at Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Tresoldi is set to be watched by Leeds scouts in Wednesday evening's clash with Lens in the Champions League.

Leeds are not alone with their interest, however, as the likes of Everton, Newcastle United, Chelsea and others have also been touted as potential options for the striker.

As that interest grows, sources have provided an update on Tresoldi's situation at Brugge.

What have sources said on Leeds target Nicolo Tresoldi?

Brugge's asking price for Tresoldi is said to have rocketed above the £50million mark.

That is a serious outlay for a club to pay for a player who has yet to feature in one of Europe's elite leagues.

However, saying that, he has just scored three goals away at Inter and another against Aston Villa.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, who writes for The Sun and Fussball News among other publications, Leeds "have been impressed by the striker's recent performances".

However, Konur added via X on Wednesday, as per his sources, that "Brugge's priority is to keep the forward for the remainder of the season".

Daniel Farke would no doubt have liked Tresoldi as soon as 1 January, but if Leeds can get his signature ahead of the others teams mentioned in the summer, he may well be worth waiting for.

What can Nicolo Tresoldi bring to Leeds?

Tresoldi would initially provide competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.

There will be occasions both could play together, especially when Leeds are chasing a goal.

Given his young age, the hope would then be he continues to blossom and then usurps Calvert-Lewin as first choice up top before too long.

Lars Fuchs, who managed Tresoldi at Hannover, said in an interview with AS on Wednesday: "Sooner or later, Tresoldi will end up at a top-level club.”

Leeds will definitely be a step up, given Tresoldi has so far played in the Belgian top flight and German second division.

His trajectory may then take him to one of the so-called big boys, but only after he - fingers crossed - thrives at Elland Road.

For now, this is very much one to watch.
