Leeds scouts sent to watch 'extraordinary' Nicolo Tresoldi as 2027 move on
Leeds United are still in the hunt to sign Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi.
The Germany Under-21 international was touted as a target for the Whites during the summer transfer window.
It was reported in July that Tresoldi was identified as a possible back-up for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
How far that initial interest went is not clear, but it appears Tresoldi is still very much on Leeds' radar.
The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form for Club Brugge, having scored nine times in 11 matches this season.
That includes a hat-trick in a famous away win at Inter Milan recently, which has only ramped up the hype further.
What is latest on Leeds' interest in Nicolo Tresoldi?
It was reported by Belgian outlet HLN on Tuesday that Leeds are one of a number of teams that will be present for Brugge's Champions League clash with Lens and Jan Breydel Stadion on Wednesday.
However, Tresoldi's growing reputation means Leeds are not alone in having the exciting attacker on their radar.
Everton, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Aston Villa are other Premier League teams mentioned who will have scouts present in midweek.
It is also mentioned how a move away from Brugge is looking likely in 2027 amid the growing interest, but to whom is not yet known.
Is Nicolo Tresoldi affordable for Leeds?
Had the Whites made their move in the summer, Tresoldi - hailed an "extraordinary finisher" by ex-boss Stefan Leitl - may well have been attainable.
However, reports indicate it will now take an offer in the region of £53million to lure Tresoldi away from Brugge.
That is a very high amount for a player not exactly proven yet, even if he does have a Champions League hat-trick to his name at San Siro.
Daniel Farke would love another option to Calvert-Lewin up top, but the West Yorkshire club are not going to be breaking their transfer record to bring in a back-up.
On the face of it, the ship has surely sailed for Leeds, but there is certainly no harm in the Whites keeping tabs on him for the time being.
