Leeds United hit crucial days to seal Zion Susuki transfer already

Leeds United are once again in the market for a new goalkeeper at Elland Road.

It has been somewhat of a cursed position in LS11 for years now, with Zion Susuki possibly the latest saviour.

Daniel Farke signed Lucas Perri from Lyon last season, but he soon lost his place to Karl Darlow, who finished the campaign superbly.

As contract talks continue with the Welshman, doubts have also been cast over Perri's future in West Yorkshire.

With Illan Meslier already moving on with the expiration of his contract, Susuki could be signed as priority.

And despite him being at the World Cup with Japan, negotiations may just be about to progress.

Leeds entered negotiations for Suzuki at the start of the week, starting a flurry of activity.

Harry Wilson has now agreed a long-term contract in what promises to be a huge free transfer for the Whites.

But, they aren't done there.

Forza Parma report that Leeds are in concrete negotiations to find a financial agreement over Suzuki.

The Italian outlet states that the next few days are crucial to clarify the Japanese international's future.

Suzuki is said to be the "hottest property" in Parma's squad in the summer window, and they will be tested now.

Leeds have secret weapon to sign Zion Suzuki

Being away at the World Cup usually makes it harder to sign a player, but this could actually help Farke and the 49ers.

Japan have qualified for the knockout stages, and despite sitting out the first game, Ao Tanaka has been crucial.

Starting in games against Tunisia and Sweden, the midfield maestro has been sensational for the Blue Samarai.

There have been doubts around the future of Tanaka, which haven't been helped by Leeds' bids for Shea Charles.

But, should Suzuki sign at Elland Road, surely there are no questions around him also sticking around.
