Leeds United get telling response as Paulo Dybala transfer rumours emerge

Leeds United are not expected to make a move for Paulo Dybala this summer.

The Roma star has been subject to speculation linking him with the Elland Road outfit on Wednesday.

Daniel Farke is keen to add attacking quality, and the Whites have been ambitious with their transfer targets so far in this window.

MOT Leeds News has heavily reported on the Whites' pursuit of former Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt.

Dybala would represent a similar type of target, a player that Peacocks fans would have seen as a pipe dream just a few years back.

However, it appears that the links to the 40-cap international are far from the truth after a new update.

What has been said about Leeds United and Paulo Dybala?

While Farke's side's pursuit of Brandt is very real, the rumours that surfaced about a transfer for Dybala have been firmly shut down.

Graham Smyth shared a telling response on his X account, when he was asked about the potential of the Argentine moving to LS11.

Instead of saying anything, he shared a GIF of legendary basketball player Michael Jordan with the words "stop it, get some help."

That seems to put that speculation to bed, and suggests that a move for the World Cup winner will not be happening in the near future.

Why Dybala move was never happening for Leeds

The Whites signing Dybala was always extremely unlikely, even if the rumours that they had made an approach were true.

For starters, he signed a new contract with the Italian club earlier this month, to extend his terms until the summer of 2027, rather than letting them expire this summer.

Secondly, the Giallorossi are in the Champions League next season, after finishing third in Serie A, so the idea of him coming to Thorp Arch with no European football was always a long shot.

It is nice to see the Yorkshire side being named as contenders to sign some of the biggest and best players, but supporters should not believe everything that they read, especially on social media.

The Whites are likely to put their hands in the reckoning for some exciting stars like James Trafford and perhaps Liam Delap, but Dybala will not be one of them joining the club.
