Leeds United agree £20m deal for Tyler Adams, medical set – Fabrizio Romano
Leeds United have agreed a £20m deal with RB Leipzig for Tyler Adams and he will fly to England to undergo a medical, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Whites had targeted the USA international to replace Kalvin Phillips, who joined Manchester City in a £42m deal on Monday [July 4].
After reports that negotiations had advanced on Sunday [July 3], Romano now says via his personal Twitter account that a deal is fully agreed to reunite Jesse Marsch and Adams for a third time in their careers.
Leeds will pay Leipzig a total of £20m including add-ons to get the deal done, with the 23-year-old due to fly to England to undergo a medical and sign a long-term deal to play in the Premier League.
Massive
Leeds are working quickly and brilliantly in this transfer window and this is another example of just how good the ownership have been.
The club knew there was a chance they could lose key players this summer and when the Phillips deal was done, they ensured they got a solid chunk of cash and have wasted no time in reinvesting it into the squad.

Adams played under Marsch with the New York Red Bulls and with RB Leipzig in the 2021/22 season during his brief spell in charge, so the manager knows him very well.
He will provide energy and some great box-to-box ability in midfield and should compliment Marc Roca well to give the Whites a solid new look base to build on for the new season.
It’s happened quickly and Adams is now likely to be on the plane to Australia at the end of this week, and fans can be excited that there are no excuses from the board to get business done.
