Leeds United had been planning to launch a last-minute raid on RB Leipzig to sign striker Conrad Harder.

Daniel Farke is keen to sign a new centre-forward before the summer transfer window shuts at 11pm on Tuesday.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Philipp Hinze had reported that Leeds were interested in signing 21-year-old Harder, even if it meant waiting until transfer deadline day to get the deal over the line.

However, that may now be a problem for the Whites.

Leeds haven't been the only club showing an interest in Harder, who scored for RB Leipzig last weekend in a German Cup win over Eintracht Trier.

What's happened with Conrad Harder's future?

Leeds' plan to wait until the last moment of the summer transfer window to sign Harder might have backfired.

That's because Sevilla are now reportedly in advanced talks to sign the one-time Denmark international.

Marca journalist Matteo Moretto reported via his X account on Friday night that Harder is a "very real" option for Sevilla, who could now get the deal done before the end of the weekend.

If Farke wants to add a new striker to his attack, Leeds are now going to need to compete with Sevilla for Harder's signature or look elsewhere.

But what other striker options to Leeds have to look at?

Who could Leeds sign instead of Harder?

Striker links have been few and far between for the Whites this summer, potentially because of how well Dominic Calvert-Lewin performed last season.

The Bosnia & Herzegovina international would cost Leeds around £17m if they do press ahead for a deal.

The 28-year-old, who was born in Hamburg, scored 15 goals in 38 games last season but hasn't started a game for Stuttgart yet this term.
