RB Leipzig stance on Conrad Harder exit emerges as Leeds hunt deadline-busting transfer

Leeds United will remain in the hunt to sign RB Leipzig striker Conrad Harder right until the final day of the summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke is eager to add to his attack before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday, 1 September.

As a result, 21-year-old Danish striker Harder has emerged on Leeds' radar.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Philipp Hinze has now reported that the Whites will wait until deadline day, if they have to, in order to get a deal done.

Writing via his personal X account on Friday, Hinze reported that Galatasaray and Lazio are also keen on signing Harder, who scored for Leipzig last week in a 6-0 German Cup win over Eintracht Trier.

He also revealed the terms of which Leipzig are willing to do a deal for the former Sporting CP striker.

RB Leipzig's decision on Conrad Harder's future

While Leeds only see Harder as an "alternative option" for their attack, they have every chance of signing him if they press ahead with a deal in the coming days.

That's because Hinze reports that RB Leipzig are open to letting Harder leave both on a permanent basis or via a loan agreement.

Leipzig signed the one-time Denmark international last year for a fee worth around £20million.

It remains to be seen how much Leipzig want to sell him this summer, however, there's a good chance they'll look to recoup most - if not all - of what they paid for him last year.

That might prove tough, though.

Why Leeds should lowball Leipzig with Harder bid

If Leeds want to sign Harder, they could definitely force Leipzig into an awkward spot with a lowball offer.

That's because since joining the Bundesliga club, he's only scored four times in 33 appearances across all competitions.

He is only 21 years old, so he does have his best years ahead of him.

But a slow year in Germany, which yielded just eight Bundesliga starts, could be enough for Leeds to consider offering less than what he cost last summer.

If that happens and Harder pushes to leave, Leipzig might find themselves stuck between deciding to cut their losses on someone who didn't start mcuh last season, or stand by him and try to squeeze more value out of him in the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.
