Leeds United look set to get one over on Frank Lampard at Coventry City on deadline day.

There have been plenty of plus points to speak of for the Whites throughout the window.

The additions of Harry Wilson and James Trafford have been highly coveted and look set to have a telling impact.

That isn't to say that Daniel Farke is done there as he looks to add to his squad further.

How have Leeds beaten Coventry City to new signing?

There has been a clear desire to add full-back depth to the squad in Yorkshire this summer.

Various names have been linked and it now seems that the search has reached its end.

That has seen the Whites edge ever closer to the signing of Melvin Bard from OGC Nice.

The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that Leeds have won the race to his signature ahead of both Coventry and West Ham.

The 25-year-old was a player of interest to Lampard's side and it now looks as if the Elland Road outfit have got one over on the ex-Chelsea midfielder.

When could Leeds announce Melvin Bard signing?

A deal has quickly been arranged for the Frenchman to seal a move to Yorkshire.

A loan move looks set to go through, subject to medical.

The left-back is now travelling to LS11 to undergo tests before sealing a temporary switch to Elland Road.

Should those go well and no issues arise, Leeds should be able to announce the deal long before the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday.

An initial loan could eventually make way for a permanent deal, thought to be in the region of just £5million.
