Leeds agree compensation to sign striker compared to Kai Havertz
Leeds United are set to sign Ditmir Hodja from Rabotnicki Skopje.
Daniel Farke's side have turned their attention back to attacking reinforcements after securing the signature of Nico Elvedi.
They have already strengthened in goal with James Trafford, in defence with the Swiss star and Tarik Muharemovic and in the forward areas with Harry Wilson.
A back-up for Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the next priority, and the solution may have come from the North Macedonian side.
The 29-year-old picked up 14 goals in the Premier League last season, but Lukas Nmecha could only manage six.
It seems as though the Elland Road side have now future-proofed the position as they land 18-year-old Hodja, who has been compared to Arsenal's Kai Havertz.
How Leeds won race for Ditmir Hodja
Leeds are understood to have won the crowded race for Hodja's signature.
A report from the Daily Mail on Friday claimed that the Whites beat plenty of competitors for the forward who has been likened to the 62-cap international.
It states that Hodja was a free agent, but the LS11 side have agreed compensation with the Skopje-based outfit.
Supporters will be keen to learn more about the attacker, as he is a complete unknown to English fans.
Why has new Leeds man Hodja been compared to Havertz?
Hodja has been compared to Havertz due to his towering frame, as he measures at six foot and four inches.
He has notched six goals and two assists in eight games for the Macedonian side's first team.
The North Macedonia Under-19s international is believed to have good technical ability and is adept in the air, abilities which the Gunners star also possesses.
Havertz has managed 43 goals and 25 assists in 163 matches in the English top-flight.
He has also bagged 15 goals and five assists in 63 Champions League games, which is a solid record at the very highest level of the game.
If Hodja could manage similar figures in Yorkshire, it would be a very successful addition for Farke's side in the long-term.
Putting that expectation on him immediately would be unwise, as he will surely start with the academy sides.
However, if he is a similar profile to the German international and can make it into the senior side, it would be very exciting.
