Joe Rodon and agents decide on Leeds United stay after Tottenham development

Joe Rodon and his camp are keen to remain with Leeds United, according to Joe Donnohue.

Writing via the Yorkshire Evening Post (7 June), Donnohue suggested that the centre-back and his camp won’t be keen to start afresh elsewhere considering how successful his time with the Whites was.

Tottenham are said to be open to selling Rodon.

As per Football London (6 June), the North London club have decided to extend Rodon’s deal by a further year.

Leeds United will be keen to bring Joe Rodon back to Elland Road

The Whites will likely be just as keen as Rodon for the player to return to the club.

With Tottenham open to selling, and Rodon and Leeds keen on the move, there should be little standing in the way of a permanent transfer.

Unfortunately, as is often the case in football, money could cause an issue.

Spurs’ decision to extend Rodon’s contract suggests they are expecting a fee for the player.

However, it might be a fee which Leeds cannot afford to pay.

Had Daniel Farke’s side been promoted to the Premier League, pictures would likely have already been snapped of Rodon holding a Leeds shirt in front of Elland Road.

But with the Whites set to spend another season in the Championship, it complicates things.

Perhaps a loan with an obligation to buy could help move a deal along, although that remains to be seen.

However, Rodon’s desire to remain with Leeds should at least make a difficult deal that bit more achievable.
