Jean-Matteo Bahoya update shared at Leeds United after transfer window closes

Leeds United have been pushing hard to finalise a deal for Jean-Matteo Bahoya on transfer deadline day.

Leeds agreed a package worth £26million for Bahoya earlier on Tuesday with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Whites announced the signing of defender Melvin Bard just ahead of the 11pm deadline.

But confirmation of Bahoya's arrival was not forthcoming before the window technically shut for business.

However, transfers can still be concluded with the use of a deal sheet and an update has now emerged on Bahoya to Leeds.

The deal sheets must be submitted by clubs to the Premier League before 11pm.

The final details can then be ironed out, which is pretty common on deadline day - or indeed the day after deadline day.

Ben Jacobs reported via talkSPORT after the window 'shut' on Tuesday that Leeds are confident of announcing the signing of Bahoya before too long.

Jacobs added that he is "not expecting any problems" when it comes to the final paperwork being signed off.

Leeds signed off on Wilfried Gnonto's move to Fiorentina, knowing that Bahoya will get done.

Until confirmation arrives, supporters will not be able to breathe easily.

But assuming it does go through as planned without any glitches, it has been a positive day for the Whites.

Bard has also arrived to provide cover at the back, adding to the additions of James Trafford, Harry Wilson, Nico Elvedi, Michael Zetterer and Tarik Muharemovic.

It must be said that Daniel Farke's squad is stronger now than it was at the start of the window, with this a group more than capable of staying well above the relegation zone.
