Isaac Schmidt's Leeds United departure is imminent.

The Swiss full-back is poised to join Young Boys in his home country.

Schmidt made the switch to Elland Road in 2024, but has only ever been a bit-part player under Daniel Farke.

Indeed, he made just 14 appearances for Leeds and spent last season on loan with Werder Bremen in Germany.

Bremen ultimately opted not to exercise a purchase option on the 26-year-old, leaving his situation unclear.

However, he has now found a new permanent home and more details of his exit are emerging.

How much will Leeds receive from Isaac Schmidt's exit?

MOT Leeds News has previously reported how Young Boys had beaten competition from Basel for Leeds full-back Schmidt.

Indeed, prominent Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported how the medical was complete and only the formalities needed to be completed on the transfer.

It looks as though those formalities are now extremely close to be completed, following a new update from Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reporter wrote on his X account that Leeds are set to receive a £2million fee for the sale of Schmidt.

Additionally, he added that Schmidt's exit should be announced on Thursday, with confirmation now seemingly imminent.

Daniel Farke transfer twist: Isaac Schmidt could now completely change 49ers summer plans

Who else could leave Leeds United this summer?

Schmidt is not the only returning loanee whose future Leeds need to sort out this summer.

Maximilian Wober also spent last term with Bremen, but saw much of his campaign disrupted by injury.

Now back at Elland Road, he surely does not have a future in LS11 and will be shipped out when a buyer is found.

Joe Gelhardt looks surplus to requirements, and Hull City - whom he helped fire to promotion last season - are keen on a full transfer.

Jack Harrison spent the latter half of last season with Fiorentina and is said to be in talks with New England Revolution over a move to MLS.

Largie Ramazani was with Valencia on loan last season, and even though there is some clamour from supporters for him to get a chance, he will likely be sold if a good offer comes in.

Away from the returning loanees, there is a school of thought that the likes of Joel Piroe and Wilfried Gnonto may be allowed to move if good offers come in.
