Leeds United are one of the many clubs keeping an eye on Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado.

The Whites have been in the market to bolster their options in the middle of the park but have so far failed to get a midfield signing over the line.

The transfer deadline is just a few days away, and Daniel Farke will want to ensure his squad is fully equipped for the season ahead.

And the German could get his wish with reports of Leeds' interest in Casado now emerging.

The Whites will be hoping their push for a new midfielder can now finally bear fruit.

What does Marc Casado want for his future amid Leeds interest?

Leeds United’s search for midfield reinforcements has seen them linked with several targets this summer.

Now, according to the print edition of Mundo Deportivo on 30 August, Leeds have emerged as an option for Barcelona's Casado.

The Spanish newspaper reports that the Catalan side have set a £34.2million valuation on the midfielder who has two La Liga titles to his name.

Casado's future has been up in the air this summer, with offers from Saudi club's Al Hilal and Al Ahli arriving.

The Spaniard did reject those transfers to the Middle East himself, with it said he wishes to remain in Europe with his next move.

But he has yet to make a move away with Hansi Flick informing him he is not part of his plans.

Now, the report shares that the "time has come" for Casado to make his final decision on his next career steps.

What competition do Leeds have in Casado pursuit?

Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton, Sunderland, and Nottingham Forest are among the other Premier League sides that have taken an interest in Casado.

Besiktas, Benfica, Milan and Leipzig are also said to be in the race as well.

So, the Whites would certainly face a tough battle to swoop in for Casado before the 1 September deadline.
