How much Leeds are paying for Michael Zetterer as Frankfurt accept offer

Leeds United and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a financial agreement over a fee for the transfer of Michael Zetterer.

The Whites are closing in on their next signing of the summer, after the goalkeeper landed at Leeds-Bradford airport on Friday to finalise personal terms for a deal.

The 31-year-old is set to undergo medical tests ahead of a permanent transfer, with the plan being for him to play deputy to James Trafford.

Daniel Farke has been on the lookout for a second-choice keeper ever since Karl Darlow left the club, with Lucas Perri also set to leave Elland Road

The Brazilian will be joining Torino on an initial season-long loan, which also includes an option to buy.

There has been lots of talk about Zetterer joining Leeds, but supporters can now get clarification on the fee that the Whites are paying for the player.

Zetterer has travelled to Leeds, after becoming aware that his position at Frankfurt was going to see him get limited minutes.

While he will not be a regular starter at Elland Road, he will be able to have the chance to play in the Premier League, a prospect which attracts him.

According to highly-respected journalist Florian Plettenberg, Frankfurt and Leeds have reached a club-to-club agreement over the German, one which is said to be worth £4.3million.

However, it's said that the Whites are yet to agree personal terms with the shot-stopper, who is now set for face-to-face talks in England.

Farke remained coy when asked about Zetterer at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Brentford on Sunday, and perhaps this is why.

Are Leeds getting a good deal financially for Zetterer?

Leeds knew Perri was unlikely to stick around as the second-choice goalkeeper this season, especially after being on the bench towards the back end of last term.

It just didn't work out in LS11 for the former Lyon man, which is why the loss of Darlow will have been felt even more.

The Whites were unable to get a fee for Darlow, and have ultimately had to spend £4.3m to replace him.

But Zetterer played more than half of Frankfurt's Bundesliga games last season.
