Kerim Alajbegovic has put the world on notice with his latest World Cup exploits amid Leeds United interest.

The Bosnian forward netted his first goal of the tournament in the final group game helping his nation finish third in Group B.

Bosnia and Herzegovina look to be in good standing in the third-place rankings with a total of four points.

Leeds officials would have been paying attention as they are among many of the suitors for his signature.

The Whites are pushing ahead with a deal for Harry Wilson, who plays on the right side of attack.

But Alajbegovic, who is typically a left-sided winger, could help continue a revamped Leeds forward line and especially after this recent praise from Gary Lineker.

Why Gary Lineker believes Kerim Alajbegovic is one to watch

The World Cup group games are beginning to end and many nations will soon find out their fate.

But for Alajbegovic, he may have save his country's blushes. As Bosnia looked to win their first game of the tournament, the 18-year-old popped up with an exceptional strike to open the scoring against Qatar.

In the end, it was a 3-1 win for the Europeans.

Leeds have been touted to have interest in the winger, with the Daily Mail reporting that talks have gone as far as the Whites speaking with Alajbegovic's agents.

And after Lineker's comments, there is even more reason to push ahead with a move.

Speaking on the Rest is Football, Lineker said: "I don't know whether you saw the goal from Alajbegovic.

"Absolutely stunning. I think he's an 18-year-old. Plays for RB Salzburg, actually, and definitely one to watch. I mean, he beat two men, and then he smashed it in the top corner. Stunning goal, Micah."

Micah Richards was also left impressed simply saying: "Unbelievable goal."

While Lineker's praise is high, the footballer turned TV presenter is slightly off with his remarks.

Alajbegovic did play last season at RB Salzburg, but he is set to return to Bayer Leverkusen after they activated their buy-back clause.

Are Bayer Leverkusen open to a sale?

Those interested in the World Cup star are hoping that the Bundesliga side can be convinced to turn a quick profit.

But the last report on their stance was simply they will "consider their stance" as per the aforementioned Daily Mail information.

With Bosnia's World Cup journey set to continue, talks will likely be delayed further.

The 18-year-old will want full focus on his international side as they eye a historic first appearance in the knockout rounds of a World Cup.
