Leeds are hoping to continue their momentum against Brighton on Saturday.

Leeds secured a 2-1 win over West Ham last time out, to put a six-point buffer between themselves and the relegation zone.

Daniel Farke will be keen to get the Elland Road outfit as far away from danger as possible before the business end of the season.

However, the clash at the AMEX Stadium on 1 November will be a tough test, and the Whites' record on the south coast is a huge concern.

Leeds winless in nine visits to Brighton

Daniel Farke has selection dilemmas for his Leeds side when they travel to face Fabian Hurzeler's side, but their record will be an even bigger worry.

Leeds have failed to score on their last seven trips to Brighton, which is their joint-worst scoreless run against an opponent, and they could break that if they do not score this time around.

Another reason for Farke to be terrified is the fact that Leeds have not won away to the Seagulls in the last nine meetings, since a 3-0 win in November 2009 under Simon Grayson in League One.

They have drawn three and lost six of their visits to the south coast since that victory.

Why Leeds should believe that they can beat Brighton despite negative omen

For starters, Brighton have kept just one clean sheet in their past 21 matches at home, so the Peacocks can take confidence from that.

Hurzeler's side are not exactly stable at the back, and while they have beaten the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, they have dropped points to the likes of Fulham and Wolves.

The Seagulls are expected to beat the LS11 outfit, but they could be overconfident and complacent, which would allow the Whites to surprise them.

Farke needs the likes of Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Brenden Aaronson to step up, and make the most of the opportunities that they are handed in the clash.

Leeds will not sit back and defend; that is not in Farke's nature, and that is absolutely the right approach against a team that has shown vulnerability already in this campaign.
