This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.
Leeds United finally got their hands on the Championship title on Wednesday, finishing the season in style with a 4-0 win over Charlton.
The convincing victory sealed Lee Bowyer’s Addicks to relegation, but it was all champagne and celebrations for the Whites, who have ended their 16-year wait for Premier League football.
It was a stroll for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who won the title with ease in the end, opening up a 10-point gap to West Brom.
The final game had everything. A Ben White screamer, a Tyler Roberts goal directly from a corner and even a league debut for Mateusz Bogusz.
It was the perfect ending to the perfect season, and it was all pictured when the Leeds squad gathered around Bielsa for him to lift the title – pure ecstasy.
All eyes will now switch to the Premier League for the Whites, with nearly every single player proving themselves worthy of a spot in the top-flight next season.
The moment of lifting the title on that open-top bus was criticised, but the delight and pandemonium were almost two-decades of hurt all pouring out at Elland Road.
Our MOT Super Fans have followed the action all season step-by-step with us, and for the final time, we asked them who their Man of the Match was from the Charlton victory.
Here’s what they said…
This is one we all expected, and it is White who is getting all the plaudits for what could be his final act in a Leeds shirt.
Ian Poveda did his best to try and assure fans that the Brighton loanee will be sticking around next season, all we can do is cross our fingers.
