Summerville sold, Jack Clarke in four new signings – Leeds United potential XI in 2024/25 opener
With a number of ins and outs expected at Leeds United this summer, Daniel Farke’s eleven for the first Championship game of the 2024/25 season against Portsmouth may have a different look to it.
The Whites are yet to make a signing this summer but there are many irons in the fire moving deeper into the transfer window.
There is also the potential for many first-team stars to depart Elland Road this summer with better opportunities available to some.
Leeds United potential starting XI after summer signings
The Whites are unlikely to look to replace Ilian Meslier this summer after a great season with plenty of Championship clean sheets to boot.
In the centre-back roles, Pascal Stuijk could come into the left-sided role while Ethan Amapdu drops from midfield to play on the right of the two.
Despite Archie Gray playing there regularly last season, a move to sign Alfie Gilchrist on loan [Ben Jacobs] could allow him to play further forward.
The Chelsea youngster can play in either full-back role and on the right for Leeds could be useful.
On the other side, if he stays this summer, Junior Firpo could play on the left after a positive first season in the Championship last year.
If Gray is to stay, Ilia Gruev could then depart, and then he could line up alongside Glen Kamara in a double pivot style midfield system as Ampadu drops into centre back.
Summerville has been linked with a move away and could depart so someone like Liam Millar could prove to be a replacement option [The Athletic].

Georgino Rutter is another star who has been heavily linked with a departure but can Farke afford to lose so many key stars? Probably not.
With that being said, Wilfried Gnonto has been heavily linked with a move this summer and in the past so he could still leave.
Sunderland are demanding up to £15 million for Jack Clarke [Yorkshire Evening Post] and he could prove to be the perfect replacement for the Italian this summer in a return to Elland Road.
Adam Hlozek would represent a significant improvement in the Leeds squad and if he was signed he would displace Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe.
