Leeds United may have just dropped their biggest hint about their new kit and badge ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

According to The Athletic [19 June], Adidas are exploring the idea of using earlier iterations of Leeds' badge, with the "smiley" crest being considered.

Due to the club's illustrious history, fans are extremely protective over any parts of their beloved team, whether that be the ownership, Elland Road, the badge, or anything of the sort.

This was certainly evident when Red Bull was announced as the next shirt sponsor, having staked a minor share in the club earlier this summer, as fans were worried this could change many different factors.

Despite this, many fans are quite excited about the prospect of the "smiley" badge returning to Elland Road, and the Whites may have just dropped a giant teaser.

Leeds United set for "smiley" badge change next season

Leeds took to X on Wednesday 26 June to share their fixture list for the upcoming season, with the more aware fans noticing the "smiley" badge in the corner of the graphic.

While this does not confirm anything quite yet, it is obviously a ploy to see the fans' reaction before making any decisions on next season's kit and badge.

It seems to have gone under the radar somewhat, which may not be helpful to the club if they are trying to make an important decision.

There was uproar at Elland Road in 2018 after Leeds unveiled a new badge, displaying a fan enacting the famous club salute to mark a fresh era, though this was quickly changed.

The club will not want a re-run of that scenario, but due to the positivity around the "smiley" badge, fans are much more likely to have a positive reaction to the new kit.
