MOT View: Leeds fans set for big Bielsa development on Wednesday
Leeds United fans should brace themselves for a big development on the future of Marcelo Bielsa today.
The Leeds players are back in training on Wednesday, ready for an assault on the 20/21 Premier League.
We’re fully expecting Marcelo Bielaa to be taking the training session and if an announcement isn’t made about a new contract for the manager this morning, the sight of him at Thorp Arch will be confirmation enough that he’s staying for at least another year.
All the noises coming from Elland Road have been positive and both Jack Harrison and Joe Gelhardt said they were looking forward to working with Bielsa when they signed deals on Monday.
Leeds fans have everything bar the actual confirmation that Bielsa is staying and we would bet money on that coming today.
Last year, Leeds announced the new Bielsa deal with a tweet that showed white smoke rising in a short video clip.
Something similar this morning would be the perfect way for Leeds to kick off their 20/21 campaign, with the club set to play its first top-flight fixtures in over 16 years.
The Premier League kicks off on September 12 and that gives Bielsa exactly a month to work his magic and get an extra 10% out of this squad of players.
If Bielsa isn’t there to take the first training session? We just can’t see any way that’s going to happen.
