Daniel Farke is already now the third-longest serving manager in the Premier League, just three years into his Leeds United tenure.

There have been plenty of ups and downs for the German in his three years and 26 days at the Elland Road helm.

The positives have definitely outweighed the negatives, though, as having failed to get promoted in his first season, he has since taken Leeds into the Premier League and kept them there.

Farke has been tipped with the exit pretty regularly throughout his spell in West Yorkshire, but less so this summer compared to the past two.

And with the former Norwich City boss going nowhere anytime soon, he has a chance to become an immortal character in Leeds' history.

That is amid an intriguing new reveal shared following Eddie Howe's shock exit from Newcastle United on Thursday.

Only Arsenal's Mikel Arteta and Aston Villa's Unai Emery have now been in charge of a Premier League team longer.

It is pretty remarkable to think that Farke is already in that elite list, especially considering the amount of uncertainty over his job in the past.

And as pointed out by LUFC Data on X, Farke is just 14 days off overtaking Simon Grayson as Leeds' third-longest-serving manager since Howard Wilkinson.

He is also set to overtake Marcelo Bielsa (in 232 days) and David O'Leary (244 days) on that list if he sees out the 2026-27 season.

It means Farke will then be behind only the legend that is Wilkinson come this time next year.

However, Farke seeing out the season - as rosy as things look right now - remains a pretty big if.

Why Farke and Leeds powershift remains present

Farke, out of character, effectively told the 49ers to match his ambitions this summer or he will walk away.

It came as a shock at the time in mid-May, with Farke realising he had some bargaining power after keeping Leeds up.

The owners have very much showed their ambition with the signings of Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford - which is about to be confirmed - plus the free agent arrival of Harry Wilson.

There will likely be one or two more signings, too, which will all of a sudden shift the onus back onto Farke.

He has been given the ammunition and now needs to ensure he does not give those high up at Elland Road an opportunity to change course.
