Daniel Farke contract agreement imminent after 'amazing' Leeds United scenes
Daniel Farke is expected to extend his contract at Leeds United very soon.
The German manager is in the final year of his deal with the Whites and could have walked away at the end of the season.
After significant investment in the 49-year-old head coach's squad, the West Yorkshire outfit have enjoyed a decent start to the season.
Leeds picked up another point against Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday in a 1-1 draw.
The Peacocks sit seventh in the table after seven games, losing just once.
With the German manager making impressive progress since their promotion to the Premier League, it's no surprise the LS11 hierarchy want him to stay.
What's the latest on Daniel Farke contract at Leeds United
Farke has agreed a new Leeds contract in principle, which will keep him at the club until June 2029, but the final formalities need to be sorted.
The German manager's prospects have improved since the summer of 2025, when there were doubts about his future.
Now, the former Norwich City boss wants to stay and the West Yorkshire outfit are eager to move forward with him in charge.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 19 October, Alex Crook said, "I did that in the notebook a few weeks ago that talks were pretty positive, that he wanted to stay and they obviously want to keep him.
"He's up at the end of the season. It's going to happen, and deservedly so."
Crook went on to suggest that Farke is now finally proving himself in the Premier League after being given the tools at Elland Road, which wasn't the case at Carrow Road.
Only a few months ago, the German manager looked dejected despite winning the Championship title at Home Park after a dramatic comeback against Plymouth Argyle.
Sam Matterface added, "There's that amazing shot at the end of the season where they get promotion; he's sitting alone in the dugout.
"It looks like he's finished even though he'd got promoted. So it was a very strange tableau to see after a team had got promoted back to the Premier League."
What Paraag Marathe and 49ers Enterprises will want to see at Elland Road
Paraag Marathe and 49ers Enterprises want to re-establish Leeds in the Premier League.
The English top flight is where all the money is and the Whites have taken significant strides under the American owners in recent seasons.
With the West Yorkshire outfit spending big sums on the likes of James Trafford and Tarik Muharemovic in the summer, it's clear where their ambitions lie.
Farke wanted to see the Elland Road hierarchy back him in the transfer window and they've done exactly that.
Now, if the German manager stays at the Peacocks, the 49ers will be looking for stability and potential silverware in the coming years.
While the season is still long, Farke's team could also compete for a European finish, which would certainly please the owners in LS11.
