West Ham look to fast-track Raphael Guerreiro transfer as Leeds United swoop on cards
Leeds United are now racing to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Raphael Guerreiro with West Ham now entering the race, according to Jeunes Footeux.
It has been reported by TEAMtalk that the Whites are readying a contract offer for the left-back in January to bring him to Elland Road in the summer for free.
That could now change though, with West Ham looking to bring Guerreiro to the Premier League ahead of schedule in the winter window this season.
Things are getting desperate at West Ham too, which makes things worst.
David Moyes is in “Fatal” status in regards to his job after spending £159.1million over the past year, with more money to be spent in January it seems.
Can Leeds afford to make a push earlier? That will be down to Victor Orta with the backing of Andrea Radrizzani to go out and get it done for Jesse Marsch.
This Leeds defence is simply not good enough, right now.
Pascal Struijk being played out of position on the left is not helping, despite it being clear that he has done all he can to make it work this season.
Playing centrally would help him massively, so bringing in Guerreiro early would be huge and now there is the chance to fast-track that and get it done early.
Leeds cannot afford to miss out to West Ham and then be forced to watch the Portuguese shine elsewhere in the Premier League, with the World Cup on his mind now.
Orta may not be at Elland Road for much longer with the 49ers closing in, so if this was one of his last moves alongside another new striker in January, we would applaud him.
West Ham appear desperate though and clearly have the money to throw around, but it looks as though it all depends on the player with a Dortmund extension also on the table.
All eyes are on Guerreiro.
