Man United have joined the race with Liverpool for Leeds United winger Raphinha, according to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari.

Longari is the transfer expert for SportItalia TV and he added that Leeds are keen to keep hold of the player they signed in the summer for £17m.

Longari posted the news late on Tuesday night, shortly after Andrea Radrizzani showed off a clip of Raphinha at the Nou Camp.

Raphinha signed from Rennes in the summer and has taken the Premier League by storm.

Not a chance

First off, we don’t think Leeds will sell Raphinha in the summer unless there’s an absolutely ludicrous sum of money offered, and there’s nothing to suggest people are going to go mad.

Secondly, Andrea Radrizzani knows enough about Leeds and has enough respect for the club that he would never countenance selling him to Man United.

Radrizzani was at the Nou Camp for the Champions League game against PSG last night and that’s where his ambitions lie.

He was with UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov who said to him, “Andrea, how are you? You promote your club?”

Radrizzani replied by saying: “Yes, always. One day, we’ll be Champions League.”

Leeds aren’t going to get in the Champions League by selling their best player – unless a team is willing to make such a stupid offer that we could improve our team by letting him go.

That seems to be the stance from Leeds, with Longari stating that Leeds want to keep Raphinha.

That mettle could be tested in the next six months if Raphinha keeps playing like he has.

Maybe once we’re safe we can hide him away in a box until the start of next season. And maybe Radrizzani needs to stop showing clips of him off on his phone.
