Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani wasn’t afraid to promote the Whites ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
Radrizzani was alongside someone we’d have never expected – former UFC champions Khabib Nurmagomedov – as he showed off a clip of Leeds and, most notably, Raphinha on his phone.
Radrizzani and Khabib had a brief conversation. Khabib said: “Andrea, how are you? You promote your club?”
Radrizzani replied by saying: “Yes, always. One day, we’ll be Champions League.”

We can only dream about returning to the Champions League for now but it’s great to see Radrizzani genuinely proud of being the Leeds owner and having such lofty ambitions.
It’s not as though we haven’t ever been a top European club. It doesn’t seem that long ago when David O’Leary led to the Yorkshire giants to the Champions League semi-finals in 2000/01. Nor does it seem like decades ago when we were UEFA Cup regulars.
Radrizzani is the kind of owner that can take us back to those glory days and signing players like Raphinha can do that.
Since joining the Whites from Rennes in October, Raphinha has been magnificent.
The Brazilian winger has scored four goals and supplied five assists in 18 league appearances for United, bamboozling Premier League defenders on the way with his insane pace and dribbling skills.
It’s no shock that Raphinha is on Radrizzani’s mind when he shows up at stadiums like the Nou Camp for matches like Barcelona versus Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
He’s the kind of player who would flourish in nights like that.
Let’s hope he gets those kinds of nights at Elland Road and not anywhere else because we genuinely feel Raphinha is good enough to play in the Champions League in the future.
