Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford appears set to start v Wolves as training footage emerges

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford appears to be in extremely good shape in training at Thorp Arch ahead of the game against Wolves.

The Whites travel to Molineux to take on their fellow relegation candidates on Saturday, 18 March.

Javi Gracia said in the build-up to the game that he would assess how many minutes Bamford can play, but by the looks of it, he’s good enough to start and perhaps play even three quarters of the contest.

In the video shared on Twitter, Bamford appears to be running about normally around the 23-second mark.

The striker with 141 appearances for the club does not appear to be in any discomfort whatsoever and that’s good news for Gracia who can go with the Englishman to lead the line.

Gracia confirmed that he was set to speak to the doctors on Friday about Bamford and Rodrigo and there has been no update on it yet.

He said, “It’s something I have to speak about with the doctor tomorrow (whether they can play 90 minutes). They are improving, but I cannot tell you exactly.”

By the looks of the training video, Bamford is most likely set for a start while Rodrigo may be named on the bench and brought on in the second half.

What this means for Geroginio Rutter also, remains to be seen, but there’s a good chance that Bamford and the Frenchman can lead the line as part of a two-man attack.

In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
