Leeds United duo Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo may not feature full 90 minutes v Wolves

Javi Gracia has confirmed that he will speak to the Leeds United medical staff to see how long Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo can play v Wolves.

The Whites travel to Molineux to take on Wolves on Saturday, 18 March, in a relegation six pointer with four points separating the two teams.

Bamford and Rodrigo have both been struggling with different injury issues and there are no guarantees of them playing the entire game.

He said in his press conference, per LeedsLive, “It’s something I have to speak about with the doctor tomorrow (whether they can play 90 minutes). They are improving, but I cannot tell you exactly.”

Neither starting?

If Gracia is told that one can play 45 minutes and the other can play 60, it’s clear that neither are fully fit to play.

Whether the Spaniard takes the gamble and decides to go with them against fresh legs or prefers to bring them on in the second half, remains to be seen.

Both Bamford and Rodrigo can terrorise defences on their day and given how they’ll be better off against tired legs, we won’t be surprised if neither start and then come on in the second half.

Georginio Rutter has been signed for big money and it’s on him to show why Leeds shelled out a club-record fee to acquire his services.

Tyler Adams’ absence will also leave them with a big hole in midfield and that’s something Gracia’s going to have to deal with.

A formation change could be on the cards and it could benefit Rutter who’ll have another player leading the line with him and it very well could be Willy Gnonto.
