Jermaine Beckford has taken to Twitter to urge Leeds United hero Patrick Bamford to “keep proving the doubters wrong”.
The 27-year-old was on hand with his third strike in three Premier League matches to give the Whites a last gasp win over Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon, nodding home in the 88th minute at Bramall Lane.
That 1-0 win moved Marcelo Bielsa’s men up to sixth in the table, just three points off the summit.
And Beckford was delighted with what he saw from the Argentine’s leading marksman.
Retweeting a post referencing Bamford’s winning strike, the former Elland Road favourite wrote on his personal Twitter account: “Buzzing for this guy!
“Patrick Bamford, keep proving the doubters wrong”.

Who would have thought that after three games, Patrick Bamford would have three goals in the Premier League?
Prior to this season he had hit just one top flight strike in 27 outings in the division.
His form in front of goal last season left a lot to be desired too.
Bamford’s goals per game was a whole 0.24 below his xG of 0.6, and his shot accuracy was just shy of 39%, as per Wyscout.
But there’s a newfound efficiency to the forward, and the manner in which he has come shooting out of the blocks this term would seemingly suggest that he feels he is good enough to cut it at the highest level.
He’s already got Paul Merson admitting that he judged him too early, and if he keeps this up he’ll have a few more eating their words too.
In other Leeds United news, fans are blown away by a report linking the Whites to this “beast”.
