Joleon Lescott predicts outcome of Leeds United Premier League clash v Arsenal

Leeds United face off against Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday [1 April] and Joleon Lescott predicts the home side to grab all three points.

The Whites climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone after holding off a late Wolves fightback to win an enthralling game at Molineux on Saturday [18 March], with goals from Harrison, Luke Ayling, Rasmus Kristensen and Rodrigo.

And they return after the international break with a tough test against the Premier League’s best side when they take on Mikel Arteta’s men and Lescott speaking to Livescore [31 March] expects the Whites to leave north London empty-handed.

He said: “Leeds have made a strong start to life under Javi Gracia but I’m not expecting them to get anything against the league leaders.

“If Arsenal are going to slip up, I don’t feel it’s going to come against teams from the bottom half.

“Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Leeds.”

Tough ask

The Whites enter Saturday’s crucial encounter with some major blows, with key stars Wilfried Gnonto [ankle] and Max Wober [thigh] both returning from respective international matches for Italy and Austria with injury troubles.

Midfield anchor Tyler Adams is set to sit out the rest of the season after surgery on a thigh injury picked up before their 4-2 win over Wolves, which means the Whites face an incredibly tough task trying to overcome the Gunners this Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s men have been absolutely sparkling at the Emirates so far this campaign, winning 11 of their 14 games at home meaning they have the best record in the league. Can the Whites go and claim a victory this Saturday? It’s a tough ask for Gracia and his men, but you just never know in the English top flight.

The Whites will be boosted by the fact that key centre-back William Saliba is reportedly set to miss the game which hands Gracia and his men the chance to claim an unlikely scalp in North London.

Leeds United will have to put in their best performance of the season if they’re to get something in north London.

In other Leeds United news, the club are ready to offer a new contract to one first-team star whose deal is up in 2024.
