‘Hallelujah’, ‘Yay’ – Many Leeds fans thrilled with confirmed injury update
Leeds United fans have been encouraged by the latest update on Kalvin Phillips’ injury that was sustained in the 1-0 win against Reading on Saturday.
The 24-year-old suffered a leg injury in the first half at Elland Road and was forced to make his way off the pitch in the 37th minute.
Although Leeds went on to win, the doubts surrounding Phillips’ fitness cast a dark cloud on proceedings.
However, the midfielder has since taken to his personal Instagram account to allay concerns.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright responded to Phillips’ latest Instagram post to say that he hopes his injury “is not too serious”.
Phillips responded: “All good Wrighty, just a dead calf thanks mate.”
A dead calf could mean that Phillips will miss Wednesday’s match against Middlesbrough but it also means that he is not likely to be on the sidelines for too long.
Although some Leeds fans are hopeful that he can play against Boro in the midweek fixture, supporters are still delighted – and majorly relieved – that Phillips only has such a minor injury.
We really do not want another spell of poor form without Phillips in the side.
