Kalvin Phillips shares injury update after being taken off in Leeds 1-0 win v Reading
Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has reassured fans his knock was just a dead calf after he was taken off in the 1-0 win against Reading on Saturday.
Nearly every fan inside Elland Road had a look of despair as the 24-year-old limped down the tunnel after he tried to run off a knock picked up in the opening half an hour.
Phillips came back on to the pitch at full-time to celebrate the victory though and looked in good shape as he took the applause from the packed stadium.
Phillips posted some pictures on his personal Instagram account after the game, to which Arsenal legend Ian Wright commented on to wish him well after the knock.
The Yorkshire Pirlo replied, and it would have been the news we all were wishing for as he confirmed that he should be fine.
“All good Wrighty, just a dead calf thanks mate,” he wrote.

That would be excellent news. In all honesty, when Phillips was on the pitch yesterday, Leeds struggled to look their fluent best at times.
The Whites were caught napping on numerous occasions where Reading could have punished us, but that soon ended with a dominant second-half display.
Ben White moved into midfield and was superb. It’s a position he has struggled in before, but he made two tackles and interceptions according to WhoScored, as well as having a pass success rate of 88.9% in his progressed role.
The Brighton loanee may have impressed but it will business as usual against Middlesbrough after this update, with Phillips straight back into the side.
