Why Leeds United are being blamed for turbulent Lucas Perri events at Torino
Lucas Perri has already had a pretty wild time of things on his loan spell from Leeds United to Torino.
The 28-year-old eventually sealed a loan switch to the Serie A side towards the end of the summer transfer window.
After a late hijack attempt by Marseille, Perri stuck to his work by joining Torino for the duration of the 2026-27 season.
That includes an option to make the move permanent next summer should Perri and Torino wish to make that happen.
Perri has already made a howler at Torino, although he has also been credited with making some impressive saves.
And that high-profile recent error is now seemingly being laid at the feet of Leeds.
How is Lucas Perri performing at Torino?
Perri has so far made a couple of appearances for his new club - one in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia.
The Brazilian conceded one goal in both matches, one of which he was at fault for as Torino were knocked out of the cup by Monza.
What should have been a simple save from a Dany Mota shot turned out to be anything but.
In Friday's print edition of La Stampa, it is pointed out that Perri is open to "making a fool of himself" as that is the very nature of being a goalkeeper.
And the journalist puts that mistake down to Leeds, or rather Perri's lack of minutes under Daniel Farke last season.
The former Lyon stopper is said to be low on confidence, as highlighted by that error.
However, he did make a couple of good saves in the Bulls' 2-1 league win over Fiorentina.
What are the terms of Perri's Torino loan?
Torino will wait until the end of the season to determine whether they wish to sign Perri permanently.
The deal includes an option, rather than an obligation, to make the arrangement more permanent.
If they wish to do so, it is reported that Torino will have to pay Leeds £9.4million for Perri.
That figure is believed to have climbed thanks to Marseille's late interest in Perri, but whether or not Leeds offload for good next summer remains to be seen.
