What Leeds United's post-international break record says about their chances vs Arsenal
Leeds United have one of the toughest welcomes back when the international break ends.
The Whites will be coming up against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, the current holders of the Premier League title.
However, Arsenal are not impossible to beat, and Brighton showed that with a whopping 3-0 win before domestic football stopped.
Leeds, unlike the Gunners now, are still unbeaten in the Premier League, and will undoubtedly want to keep that streak going.
With sights set on winning as many games as possible for European qualification.
But Daniel Farke will need to rewrite history against Arsenal to push the Whites closer to that feat.
What is Leeds' record after international breaks?
Arsenal was the one team last season that Leeds struggled to get any joy against over two fixtures.
In total, the Emirates Stadium outfit scored nine and conceded zero over both matches.
In truth, it was utter domination from the champions at the Emirates and Elland Road.
Now, Farke will be looking to change the story this time around, but Leeds' record after international fixtures is not a promising look.
In the last five games, the LS11 side have not won in 90 minutes after returning from the break.
They did beat West Ham on penalties following a 2-2 draw in the FA Cup back in April 2026, with Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring that day.
But this is a significantly worrying trend, and Farke will have to have confidence that he can finally get one over Arteta this time around.
Leeds have strengthened well, and look to be a much improved outfit compared to what they were in 2025-26.
Hopefully offering a completely different match-up.
And Brighton's 3-0 win against them in the last round of games shows Arsenal are not an immovable object this campaign.
How do Arsenal usually fare after the international break?
Unfortunately for the Yorkshire side, Arsenal tend to do quite well following international breaks.
They have won four of their last five, but that loss did come in the previous break during a season back in April.
The Gunners travelled to face Southampton at St. Mary's in the FA Cup and were on the end of a 2-1 defeat.
Hopefully that is the start of a new trend emerging, and one that the Whites can now take full advantage of.
