There is a real sense of positivity around Leeds United at the moment.

The Whites had a very good transfer window, where you feel like Leeds have genuinely strengthen and added quality that can improve the starting XI.

Mix that with a decent start to the Premier League, which has included a win over Nottingham Forest, and draws with Brentford and Brighton, and things feel in a really good place.

There are always some disappointments, though, and Joe Rodon getting injured so early in the campaign is a setback.

Moreover, there is a sense of a missed opportunity in the Brighton draw given how well Leeds played for much of the game.

Will Joe Rodon's injury hurt Leeds United?

Wales defender Rodon is an extremely popular player with the terraces at Elland Road.

The 28-year-old is arguably one of the most underrated defenders in the Premier League and is a crucial part of Leeds' defence.

Rodon is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks with a hamstring injury, and Melvin Bard arrived in the transfer window to provide versatile defensive cover.

Leeds absorbed his absence pretty well when he went off against Brentford, and in the draw with Brighton.

But could it be an issue not having him for the best part of two or potentially three months? Only time will tell.

Can Jean-Matteo Bahoya win the hearts of Leeds fan like Wilfried Gnonto did?

Wilfried Gnonto was not always flavour of the month with Leeds fans.

The Italy winger once attempted to orchestrate his exit from Elland Road when Leeds were relegated from the Premier League in 2023.

But Gnonto really turned things around, playing a bit part in Leeds' ultimate return to the top flight and winning fans over with his enthusiasm.

Given his struggles for game time and no obvious spot in a 3-4-2-1 formation, it was the right decision to let him move to Fiorentina so he can get playing regularly.

In his place, Leeds moved to sign 21-year-old winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt on an initial loan deal.

He was an unused sub against Brighton, but Daniel Farke will undoubtedly use him in the coming weeks.

Leeds fans will be watching eagerly to see if the youngster can win their hearts like Gnonto ultimately did.

Was Daniel Farke too passive in the end at Brighton?

Leeds were absolutely brilliant for the best part of an hour against Brighton, and rightly led through Jayden Bogle.

Ao Tanaka was desperately unlucky to have a second ruled out for offside, and the Whites also hit the woodwork.

But the decision to bring off Noah Okafor and Bogle in the 63rd minute saw Leeds struggle to get the ball as high up the pitch as they had done.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tanaka were also brought off despite being two of Leeds' best players on the day.

Ultimately, was Farke too passive with his subs? Luka Vuskovic got the equaliser, then Leeds were under the cosh in the closing stages.

A point at the Amex Stadium, a venue where Leeds have struggled badly, is not to be scoffed at, but victory really did feel there for the taking.
