Thomas Tuchel didn't show much faith in Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the international break.

England played their fourth Nations League fixture against Czechia at Wembley Stadium on 6 October and the Whites' centre-forward came off the bench in the final minutes.

While no one is arguing against Harry Kane being the Three Lions' first-choice number nine, fans have long raised concerns about the lack of cover for the Bayern Munich star.

Tuchel clearly saw value in including Calvert-Lewin in the latest England squad, but the striker struggled for minutes away from Elland Road.

With the extended international break concluding, the English forward will return to action for Daniel Farke's team soon.

There's no doubt about the 29-year-old's prospects at the West Yorkshire outfit, but his situation with the Three Lions doesn't look encouraging.

Why Dominic Calvert-Lewin may not be part of next England squads

Calvert-Lewin didn't have the best of international breaks, getting around 15 minutes of action across the four games.

The Whites' striker came off the bench in the final minutes as England were losing to Spain.

Tuchel then decided against bringing the former Everton ace on away against Czechia and even in the dominant 7-0 win over Croatia.

The German manager has opted to play Jude Bellingham as a false nine instead of counting on Calvert-Lewin up front.

If that's the direction Tuchel is looking to take to provide cover for Kane in the squad, then the likes of Cole Palmer and Phil Foden will surely be ahead of the West Yorkshire outfit's star in the pecking order.

The England boss has clearly sent a damning message to Calvert-Lewin about his future with the national side.

Why Leeds United will have mixed feelings about Dominic Calvert-Lewin treatment

Farke may be happy that Calvert-Lewin didn't play much for England, which means he will be fresh on his return to Leeds.

The Whites have some challenging fixtures coming up and the striker will need to provide adequate firepower up front.

Calvert-Lewin's lack of minutes during the international break may be a double-edged sword, though, as it could affect his confidence.

The striker also had his fair share of fitness issues before moving to Elland Road and travelling with the national team comes with its risks.

Back in LS11, supporters will be ready to show their full support for the English centre-forward who has scored three goals in the first five Premier League matches.
