Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United: How to watch, TV channel and kick-off time
Leeds United start their 2026-2027 season away from home against Nottingham Forest.
The Tricky Trees will not be the same outfit seen last season, with Oliver Glasner now at the helm.
The Whites themselves are also set to look like a very different outfit following their summer business.
Daniel Farke will have much higher ambitions than last season's 14th-place finish.
And the opening fixture will provide an early insight into what can be expected of both this season.
For Leeds, a positive result at the City Ground would offer an immediate statement of intent. Here are the broadcast details for the match.
Is Leeds United's game vs Nottingham Forest on TV?
Leeds fans will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating watching the Whites kick off their season.
However, unfortunately for those in the UK, you will not be able to watch Leeds' opening game of the season on TV.
With the game kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, 22 August, the game will fall under the 3pm broadcast blackout rule, preventing the live coverage of football in the UK.
However, for those in Republic of Ireland, the game will still be televised, with Leeds' game selected by Premier Sports as their game of choice.
Their coverage of the game begins at 2.30pm on Premier Sports 1.
Both clubs will share highlights from the match around two hours after the full-time whistle.
How are both teams shaping up ahead of the clash?
While there have been no competitive games for the two sides yet, their pre-season records are available.
The Whites have lost just one of their six pre-season matches in 90 minutes, with their 1-1 draw in Dublin versus Manchester United ending in a penalty shootout loss.
Other than that, they also were defeated in their opening pre-season fixture 3-2 against Wrexham.
For Glasner's Forest, they have been more active this summer, taking part in nine games as they prepared for the 2026-2027 season.
Their results have seen them win five of those games, draw one and lose the other three.
Overall, Leeds are coming into this tie with a 66 per cent win rate so far, with Forest having a 55 per cent win rate.
Hopefully the Whites can bring that form with them ahead of Saturday's fixture.
However, there is a difference between playing in pre-season and competing in the Premier League and Farke will know that.
