MOT View: Exciting Leeds 18y/o set for huge first-team chance v Leicester after Phil Hay update

Young Leeds United centre-back Charlie Cresswell has a huge chance of being involved in the game against Leicester on Sunday.

The 18-year-old has made the bench once in the Premier League, for the 3-0 defeat against Tottenham.

However, Leeds have lost Diego Llorente to another hamstring injury. And it looks like Oliver Casey is set to go out on a late loan move.

In a transfer update on Thursday, Hay said that while no incomings are expected ahead of Monday's deadline, "Olly Casey likely to leave on loan."

With Llorente absent after the Chelsea game, Casey was the youngster to step up to the bench.

We think that role will now fall to Cresswell, who has been turning heads in the Under-23s. He's started 10 games this season and been on the winning side eight times.

He's helped the Under-23s side to the top of their PL2 table.

In terms of the starting XI, we think that Pascal Struijk will get the nod on Sunday after putting in a really solid shift against Newcastle.

That will see Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas in their more usual full-back roles.

And we think it means Cresswell will be the centre-back back-up on the bench and with a huge possibility of a big run there while Llorente is out.

Cresswell has come in for huge praise from Leeds fans in recent Under-23s games.

In the win against Fulham in December one fan said that it was "surely time for his debut" and another said he was our "future skipper".

In the recent 4-1 win for the Under-23s against Burnley, one supporter called him an "absolute beast" while another said he would put him above Casey in the pecking order.

We think that's just about to happen.
