Leeds United will be desperate to get back into Premier League action against Newcastle.

They'll have to wait for Monday night football on 14 September, though.

After dominating Chelsea for 50 minutes in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday, things got ugly at Stamford Bridge.

Daniel Farke was slow to react to Xabi Alonso's changes and ended up copping a 6-3 defeat, somehow.

After eight changes, Leeds will very likely revert to their usual tried and tested eleven against the Mapgies.

After a couple of draws against Brighton and Brentford, three points will be heavily desired in two home games before the international break.

Leeds United to ring the changes

MOT Leeds News has predicted the starting XI, and it could be very straight forward.

The first change is basically guaranteed, as James Trafford will almost certainly replace Michael Zetterer in goal.

James Justin and Tarik Muharemovic should keep their places in defence, but changes should happen around them.

Nico Elvedi, Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson could all come back in to complete the five-man defence.

And ahead of them, Ethan Ampadu will keep his spot as captain at the base of midfield.

It means that Jaka Bijol, Melvin Bard and Dan James should drop out.

Brenden Aaronson to be left out with new signings

The American may have scored at Stamford Bridge, but his all-round play was as sloppy as it's been for a while now.

He may be a huge favourite of Farke's, but he must do more.

Ao Tanaka should come back in alongside Ampadu, replacing Sean Longstaff, who was also disappointing.

That means that Harry Wilson could also miss out, as he hasn't quite hit the ground running in LS11 since his move from Fulham.

Anton Stach added great physicality in the final third at Brighton, and may continue further forward alongside Noah Okafor.

Finishing the side should be Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who will keep his usual rotation with Lukas Nmecha going.

After three without a win, but dominating in chances, Leeds must find that ruthless streak with two winnable games coming before the break.
