Leeds United fans will have one immediate concern as referee announced for Arsenal match
The Premier League has announced the referee for Leeds United's clash with Arsenal next weekend.
Leeds are back in action at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 20 days on from their most recent match.
That was a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Elland Road that maintained the Whites' unbeaten start.
There was a big decision in Leeds' draw with Palace as the Eagles had a goal ruled out for offside, as well as a weak penalty shout rejected.
The officials will no doubt have to be alert once again for Leeds' showdown with Arsenal in the capital.
And it has now been announced who will be overseeing the contest.
Who is referee for Arsenal vs Leeds United?
The Premier League announced on Monday that Paul Tierney will be overseeing this match.
If that name sounds particularly familiar to Leeds fans, that is because he was caught up in some controversy earlier this year.
Pascal Struijk was denied a clear penalty when being pulled back by Luke O'Nien in Sunderland's 1-0 win at Elland Road in March.
The Premier League's Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel later accepted referee Stuart Attwell should have pointed to the spot.
Tierney was on VAR duties that day, with the KMI adjudging he should have intervened.
That will be a concern for Daniel Farke, but what is Leeds' record like under Tierney as referee?
Leeds and Arsenal's record under Paul Tierney
Leeds' most recent match with Tierney as referee was a memorable one - the 2-1 win away at Manchester United in April.
The Whites won their only other game under Tierney last season, too, as they defeated Birmingham City on penalties in the FA Cup.
Overall, Leeds have won 10, lost 12 and drawn three of the 25 games Tierney has officiated.
As for Arsenal, they have won 11, lost six and drawn six of the 23 games he has overseen.
The most recent of those was a 1-0 home win over Burnley towards the end of last season.
