How Noah Okafor could match Leeds United feat not seen since Mark Viduka in 2002
Noah Okafor could achieve something against Manchester United not seen at Leeds United in nearly a quarter of a century.
The Whites welcome their fierce rivals to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon for a game that needs no hyping up.
Leeds have not defeated Man United at Elland Road since 2002, through a Harry Kewell goal.
However, they have twice won at Old Trafford in the subsequent years - once in the FA Cup in 2010 and once in the Premier League last season.
The hero of the hour in that most recent win six months ago was Okafor, who netted twice.
Should he find the scoresheet again this weekend, he will do something not seen at Leeds since 2002.
Noah Okafor out to match Mark Viduka's Leeds feat
Okafor is still revelling in his double at Old Trafford earlier this year.
So is the Leeds United fanbase as a whole, in fact, with that one of the most memorable results in recent times.
Wins over Man United do not come often, but Leeds arguably find themselves as favourites on Sunday.
Okafor will be raring to start and Daniel Farke will be aware of what the forward did in this reverse fixture last season.
As per Opta, if Okafor scores again this week, he will be the first Leeds player to score in successive league matches against Man United since Viduka between March 2001 and March 2002 (three in a row).
Incredibly, Viduka is the only Leeds player to have scored more than twice against Man United in the Premier League, netting four in total.
Will Okafor start for Leeds vs Man United?
Leeds put up a brave fight in losing 2-1 to Arsenal last time out.
A similar performance against Man United, who have looked pretty dreadful this season, should be enough for three points.
Okafor put in a good shift out wide at Emirates Stadium, with Anton Stach superb to his right and Dominic Calvert-Lewin proving a real nuisance up top.
Farke has options such as Brenden Aaronson, Harry Wilson, Lukas Nmecha and others waiting in the wings.
However, it may well be that the German sticks with what he went with against Arsenal, meaning Okafor will get the chance to do something not seen in 24 years.
