Former Leeds United man Pascal Struijk was handed a short appearance against the Whites for Brighton.

The Dutchman is spending his first season in eight years away from Elland Road after being sold by Leeds.

Struijk and the LS11 outfit were unable to come to an agreement over a new contract, and with his deal expiring at the end of the season, the 49ers decided to cash in.

The Dutchman has provided Leeds with countless moments, and a first reaction from his former fans has happened against Brighton.

With the game not live on UK television, there will certainly be many moments that fans would have missed.

And alongside with Struijk, there were two involving James Trafford in the 1-1 draw.

James Trafford nearly causes warm-up chaos

As shared by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Trafford was being put through the motions during his warm-up, practising his long kicks up the field.

And they state that one of those kicks went so high that ""Trafford nearly took out the Brighton stadium announcer."

Of course, it was likely a tongue in cheek comment on how far the Englishman was able to kick the ball.

Nonetheless, it is a trait that would have made him the Whites' priority for the number one position at Elland Road.

Trafford shares moment with Leeds fans after blunder

Trafford was quite involved against Brighton, and the Leeds goalkeeper nearly gifted the home side a goal.

In the 35th minute, his pass out from the back was intercepted

Luckily, the Seagulls failed to convert from the opportunity put on a plate for them.

And Trafford, knowing he could have done better, shared a cheeky smile with the away fans who were positioned behind him in the first-half.

How was Pascal Struijk received by Leeds fans?

Struijk spent eight years at Leeds United, but is now spending his time at Brighton.

The Dutch centre-back did not start against his former club, but was handed late minutes in added time at the Amex.

Struijk only made two touches during his short-lived cameo, but that was enough for the travelling support to voice their opinion.

Despite his time at Elland Road, Struijk was met with a hostile reception, with supporters booing their former defender.

It may have been an unfair reaction for the 27-year-old, and after that he may get an even more hostile welcome if he plays at Elland Road later in the season.
