Daniel Farke looked to be in high spirits as Leeds United beat Liverpool in Chicago on Sunday.

The Whites faced the Reds in their final pre-season friendly on the US tour, coming back to win 4-2 at Soldier Field on 2 August.

Brenden Aaronson kickstarted the turnaround on the hour mark, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring two and Sean Longstaff giving the West Yorkshire outfit the lead.

Farke was in the mood to joke around after watching Leeds put in a brilliant display in the second half against Liverpool.

The entire feel around the West Yorkshire outfit feels encouraging right now after some decent business in the transfer window.

Instead of adding quantity, the Peacocks have prioritised quality signings in LS11, which was on display in the United States.

What Daniel Farke hoped for after Leeds United win vs Liverpool

Leeds participated in the four-team tournament in the US, which has now concluded.

The Whites lost their opening game against Wrexham 3-2, but have since beaten Sunderland and Liverpool.

With the 4-2 victory, the West Yorkshire outfit effectively won the pre-season tournament, but Farke is disappointed by one aspect.

In a tongue-in-cheek comment post-match, the German manager said that he was annoyed the Peacocks weren't awarded a trophy.

Speaking on the club's official YouTube channel, he said, "First of all, I have to say I'm a bit annoyed because we played a tournament with four teams and won it. I wanted a trophy because, especially in the US, you get a trophy for everything. But no trophies around."

Where US tour leaves Daniel Farke in terms of Elland Road transfer needs

Alex Cairns has been the main goalkeeper throughout the US tour for Leeds.

Defensively, the addition of Tarik Muharemovic feels like a major upgrade, but the Whites should look to sign a backup for Gabriel Gudmunsson.

The middle of the park has plenty of decent options and Farke doesn't really need reinforcements in the area unless someone is sold.

There's definitely enough quality out wide as well after Harry Wilson's arrival, with his performances during pre-season showing promise.

Calvert-Lewin seems to have started where he left off, while Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe's future could potentially determine whether a new striker is signed.
