Ally McCoist feels like Leeds United will be another tough test for Michael Carrick's Manchester United.

The Whites have started the season well, but their stock has not dropped after impressing in their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

Daniel Farke's men currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, having picked up nine points from the first six games.

The defeat to Arsenal was their first loss in the Premier League since the final day of the last season, when West Ham won 3-0 at the London Stadium.

But the wider focus will be on Man United, especially with Michael Carrick coming under increasing pressure after the Red Devils' midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

McCoist has heaped praise on Leeds ahead of their game against Man United at Elland Road this Sunday, but it may not be good news for Carrick.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Antonio Conte is in talks with Manchester United over the head coach position, with growing uncertainty around Carrick's future.

A loss to Leeds could pile even more pressure on the former Middlesbrough boss, who was given the permanent job after impressing as the interim leader last term.

The Whites held their own against their long-running nemesis last season, drawing 1-1 at Elland Road last time out.

Nobody will forget Noah Okafor's brace at Old Trafford last season either, as Farke already has Carrick's number.

While speaking on talkSPORT this Wednesday, McCoist and Alan Brazil had already discussed the pressure Carrick is currently facing earlier on in the show.

The pair then looked toward the Red Devils' game at Elland Road this weekend, with the suggestion that things might not get any better for Carrick.

Brazil asked: "Ally, you'd suggest that Man United are desperate for a result this weekend?"

McCoist replied: "By the way, I'm not sure I fancy them going to Elland Road.

"I told you, I thought Leeds were excellent for an hour against Arsenal; they were really organised, well disciplined. That is one tough game for Manchester United."

A Man United fan named Jack even told McCoist and Brazil that it could be "the end of Carrick" at the club after this week.

McCoist praised the Whites earlier in the week for their performance against the defending Premier League champions, admitting that he thought that Farke's men were on for a result at one point in the match.

He thought that Dominic Calvert-Lewin was particularly impressive, but can the striker do it against Man United?

Does Calvert-Lewin record bode well ahead of Man United?

Calvert-Lewin has been on top form for Leeds this season, carrying on his momentum from last term.

His early performances this campaign earned him another call-up to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel, but he hardly got a chance to impress over the international break.

The 29-year-old has impressive records against several Premier League clubs, but Man United aren't one of them.

Calvert-Lewin has played 18 times against the Red Devils, but only found the back of the net twice.

To add to that, he's only ever been on the winning side three times, but hopefully that number turns into four this weekend.
