Phil Hay loves what he’s seen from Leeds United before West Ham showdown

Leeds United are not messing around ahead of their final-day Premier League showdown with West Ham on Sunday afternoon.

Leeds and Daniel Farke are already safe in the Premier League and could finish 11th, but the Hammers looked destined for the Championship ahead of kick-off at the London Stadium.

West Ham and Nuno Espirito Santo are two points behind Tottenham with an inferior goal difference, and need to win to survive, while hoping Everton beat Spurs.

That could see Crysencio Summerville relegated just two seasons after leaving Elland Road behind for what he thought were greener pastures.

Leeds fans have never seen eye-to-eye with Summerville’s exit, and it appears the club don’t either.

Leeds United take aim at Crysencio Summerville

Now, Leeds are well known for their social media antics, but they have gone back in time for this one.

On their pre-match graphic ahead of West Ham, they’ve placed Ethan Ampadu and Dominic Calvert-Lewin heading up an escalator with a beach bag.

Eagled-eyed viewers noticed the arm of a West Ham player heading down, that being Summerville.

Phil Hay, among many others, loved the post, and despite the winger having that sensational season before leaving, it hasn’t been forgotten what else happened.

Along with a laughing emoji, he wrote: “Well played.”

Where did it all go wrong for Crysencio Summerville?

Looking at his time at the London Stadium, Summerville was hit hard by injuries in his first full season away from Elland Road.

In only seven starts and 19 appearances, the Dutchman only scored once and added a further assist.

With more than £25million in the bank, Leeds would go on to win the Championship and hit 100 points in that season, also selling Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter for £40million each.

This season has been better, but Summerville has still only hit five goals and one assist in his 30 appearances, nowhere near good enough if you want to stay up.

Adam Pope did reveal that Summerville didn’t have the best attitude around Thorp Arch and Elland Road, so that’s one possible reason for this post.

Either way, Leeds have somewhat moved on with Noah Okafor outscoring the ex-Leeds man already, although he won’t play at the London Stadium.

Leeds fans will no doubt make themselves heard very loudly to Summerville on Sunday, even if he will move on after relegation, that stays on your record.
