Noah Okafor worth every single penny at Leeds United as forward lives up to £18m price tag

Noah Okafor has perhaps gone under the radar among Leeds United’s summer signings, which may be ridiculous to state after his recent exploits.

For much of the season, it has been Dominic Calvert-Lewin stealing the limelight and deservedly so through his goalscoring output.

Meanwhile, Anton Stach has been another that hit the ground running in LS11 this season.

If anything, it goes to show how successful the summer window was for Leeds, and more of the same will be expected in the upcoming months.

However, Okafor may be Leeds’ best value signing, as he is living up to the price that the Whites forked out for him.

Noah Okafor is now Leeds’ most valuable player

Injury issues have meant Okafor has not had the desired impact he would have hoped for this season, missing out on five matches and losing momentum.

However, despite that, he has contributed by scoring eight goals in the Premier League campaign. Questions will remain about how many more he could have had if kept fit.

Nonetheless, the impact of the 25-year-old has now been duly recognised with an update on the value of those in LS11.

According to the CIES Observatory’s fair market value, Okafor is now the most valuable player at Leeds United.

The Swiss forward is estimated to be between €20million and €23m (£17.2million and £19.8m) which is roughly around the £18m price that the Whites paid.

Previously, Stach held the most-valuable player at Elland Road honour, but performances over the last few weeks have pushed Okafor over the edge.

Leeds will avoid another relegation scare with Noah Okafor at Elland Road

If the Swiss forward keeps up the excellent displays he has shown over the last few months and brings them into next season, then any fears of relegation will surely be out of the fight.

Focus now will remain on this season’s final three games, with Okafor now likely eyeing finishing the season on double-digit figures in the Premier League.

It would be a remarkable debut campaign in the English top flight, and fans will have all the confidence he can achieve that.

Daniel Farke’s side play two of the teams still embroiled in the relegation fight, Tottenham and West Ham. Okafor may have a lot to say about who goes down.
